京都・泉屋博古館にて開催された展覧会「泉屋ビエンナーレ」に出品された作品。
同美術館所蔵の作品「虎鎛」よりインスパイアされて作った作品。我が家のネコをモチーフに組み入れてみた。This piece was exhibited at the “Sen-oku Biennale” held at the Sen-oku Hakuko Kan Museum in Kyoto.
It was inspired by the museum’s collection work Tiger bell and created as a new interpretation.
I incorporated my own cat as a motif into the piece.

板状に鋳造したピューターを組み立てて箱状にしている。
付随するパーツは蝋型鋳造で作り取り付けた。
The box is constructed by assembling sheet-cast pewter plates.
The accompanying parts were made using the lost-wax casting method and then attached to the piece.

この箱の中に詰まっているものは、私の思考である。その形のないものが煙として箱に付いた煙突からもくもくとあふれ出す。
カタチのない思考が煙という目に見える形になる。What is packed inside this box is my own thoughts.
These formless thoughts billow out as smoke from the chimney attached to the box.
The shapeless mind becomes visible as smoke.

「いもののかたち展2024」出品制作作品です。
以前から「煙突」のある情景をテーマとした作品シリーズを作っています。
煙突のもつ「内」から「外」へ排出する機能と単純にその構造的造形に興味があり制作しています。
今回の作品制作に当たって、最近の国際情勢・武力紛争において入ってくる情報に心が落ち着かないことが多々ありました。もし、そのようなことがない世界があったなら、現在とは違う世界があったならというようなことを考えながら制作しました。This work was created for the exhibition Imono no Katachi 2024.
I have been creating a series of works themed around scenes with chimneys for some time. I am drawn to the function of a chimney—carrying what is inside to the outside—as well as to its simple yet compelling structural form.
While working on this piece, I often found myself unsettled by the constant flow of news about current international tensions and armed conflicts. As I continued the process, I imagined what the world might be like if such things did not exist—if a different, more peaceful world were possible.
