糸目釜
Itome-gama (Fine-ribbed Tea Kettle)
銑鉄及和鉄 / Pig iron and traditional Japanese wazuku (charcoal-smelted pig iron).
惣型鋳造
原形を使わず、直接木型で
鋳型を造り、溶鉄を注する。着色は金、基共漆で焼き着ける。
Sogata Chuzou (Loam Molding / Indirect Casting)
This method involves creating the mold directly from a wooden pattern without using a master model, then pouring in the molten iron. Both the kettle and the lid are colored by kiln-firing urushi (Japanese lacquer) onto the surface.

古来、比較的太い糸文様はあるが、これはさらに細くして、焼金の重量感と繊細さを同時に表わした。
なお銀付は湯金の木製の蓋から
ヒントを得た。While the "Itome' (fine-ribbed) pattern has traditionally featured relatively thick lines, I have refined these into much finer, more delicate threads. This approach allows the kettle to express both the solid, substantial weight of a furnace kettle and a sense of refined delicacy simultaneously.
The design of the kan-tsuki (kettle lugs) was inspired by the wooden lids of traditional hot water kettles.
